Types of iPods

bullet iPod
bullet Nano

Installation

bullet Install iTunes before connecting iPod
bullet While installing iTunes select the following options:

Let iTunes manage music
Let iTunes search for music
Update iPod automatically

Add a folder of Music

bullet Click File
bullet Click Add Folder To Library

Add a CD of Music (ripping)

bullet Click Import CD

iTunes Music Store

bullet Buy Music

iTunes organizes music by:

bullet Artist
bullet Album
bullet Genre
bullet Song Title
bullet Additional Attributes

Change Song Attributes

bullet Click on item(s) to change
bullet Ctrl I or Right-Click and select ‘Get Info’

Changing Song Info

bullet Select ‘Info’ tab
bullet Change properties then click Ok

Syncing iPod

bullet Plug it in via USB/Firewire
bullet iTunes will load and remove music automatically
bullet iTunes will notify upon completion
bullet Disconnect iPod

Using the iPod

bullet Hold Play Button to Turn On & Off
bullet To Scroll Menu Options run finger in clockwise or counter clockwise motion
bullet To Select menu options hit button in center of the dial

Getting Music

bullet From existing CD’s (ripping)
bullet From existing mp3’s (add existing music)
bullet Downloading from Internet:

Limewire
AllOfMp3 (pay site)
Usenet
BitTorrent

Videos

bullet Must be in iPod format – mp4
bullet iTunes will convert to mp4
