1) General Interest

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I spent a quiet Christmas with friends and family.  Santa dropped by and now I have enough coal to heat my house for the rest of the winter.  Fortunately, my wife gave me a Google Droid phone.  Wow!  State of the art cell phones are just awesome today.  I'll be learning new stuff for months.

Lots of SIGs are taking a break this week.  I think Bill DeLucia's Novice SIG is the only one that will be meeting.  New members often ask where should they start at TBCS.  I highly recommend Bill's SIG for newbies (and others too!).  Bill's patience and easygoing style make him a very popular SIG leader at TBCS.  Thanks, Bill.

Computer Clinic:  Frank Bucca will be there on Wednesday morning, but we were finally able to get him to take a day off on Friday.

Doc's Social Networking Boot Camp
Saturday, January 2nd, 2-4pm at the Clearwater East Library on 2251 Drew St.

I've been invited to deliver my "Social Networking Boot Camp" by the Suncoast Humanist Society this coming Saturday.  You've often heard the names: blogs, wikis, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Delicious, Flickr, RSS Feeds, Tagging, Podcasts, Mashups, MeetUp, LinkedIn, and Twitter... but do you know what they are, and which ones should you be using?  I'll try to sort it all out for you in a single session.

Attendance is free, and it's open to everyone.  Please feel free to join us.
