We also recycle your cell phones & chargers!
We give them to a group that puts them back in circulation as 911 help for seniors (through county services).  If you donate a cell phone, please remember to bring the accompanying charger.  Please put ALL components in a plastic bag to save confusion as to which parts go to which phone.

1) General Interest

Our December meeting takes place THIS Tuesday, December 15th @6:45pm.
Chuck Vroman goes on at 5:30pm followed by the full meeting at 6:45pm.  We have something special in mind so be sure to join us.  We'll not only learn about technology, but we'll also have some laughs.  We'll adjourn a tad early, and go to Denny's after the meeting for an ad hoc Christmas party.  All are welcome to join us.  We won't be imbibing alcohol, just drinking in the warmth and spirit of our members.

Happenings at the Resource Center
Lots of activity at our Resource Center.  Conversion of our new office suite begins in earnest this Monday.  Lynne Robertson is purchasing a variety of objects (tables, chairs, whiteboard, etc.).  Kay Bazler is preparing to install the wiring.   Stan Ashbrook is preparing to purchase new projectors.  And we're all hoping that the contractors will get the job done soon so we can start using the new suite.

I am sorry to inform that Stan Ashbrook's wife, Beverly, passed away recently.  Services will be this coming Saturday,  December 19th, at 10am at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Clearwater.  Stan will be at TBCS at both of his SIGs this week as well as at our Tuesday night meeting and get-together afterwards at Denny's.  You may reach Stan via email at bashbro1@tampabay.rr.com.

Care to donate to a good cause?

For the last 2 years, TBCS members have helped with donations to an ALF (Assisted Living Foundation) in Dunedin.  These people are adults who are mentally challenged.  They don't ask for much, and they are sooo appreciative for what they receive (several of us from TBCS went there last year to watch Santa deliver their gifts).

Bonnie Jones spearheads this drive.  She will end up doing an awesome amount of work to make this event happen.  I realized that it is short notice, but if you can get donations to us either at the Resource Center or at the Largo Cultural Center by THIS Tuesday, December 15th, I know that Bonnie will ensure they have a Merry Christmas over there.  Thank you all for your generosity.

Here's part of a message that was sent to me by one of our members:
Hi Doc, The ALF list is a heartbreaker.  Out of 39 names 29 ask for a comforter -- that place must be cold.  I am gathering together some items to help out.  Perhaps if you mentioned it earlier next year enough people could get together and go for blankets (if they are still cold).

Here's their wish lists.

Doc

Photoshop SIG. Led by Stan Ashbrook
Due to some personal issues I won’t have time to prepare for these SIGs as I normally do.  I will have a few tips, but I would like for you to bring your images that you have questions about and would like help in enhancing.  Everyone dig deep and bring questions.  Let’s call this “SIG stump the expert”.
