1) General Interest
It's been
busy at TBCS!
Our
Random Acts of Kindness day on Friday, September 11th
Our new Mac SIG will meet next week on August 17th, 7-9pm
2010 FACUG Technology Cruise/Conference next
February!

It's been busy at TBCS!
I took a crew over to WEDU last Thursday night to
help them raise funds. Thanks to: Pat Hagen, Sam Mack, Matt
Pachosa, Jeanne Fallows, Nancy Hansford, Don McDermott, Joyce Runion,
Ron Regan, Craig McCorkle, Mary Kemp, George Robinson, Marianne Ryan,
and Chris. Thanks to the crew at WEDU for training us and feeding
us. I don't know how much money we raised yet.
We had guests at all of our SIGs over the weekend.
I'd also like to thank Steve Scott for speaking to the New Media SIG on
SEO. He has offered, for any of those who attended, 25% off on any
of his SEO trainings.
I no sooner complained about people shorting the soda
fund last week than our refrigerator at the center went on the fritz.
Many have suggested that we replace it with a vending machine.
However, that won't work for us because we don't move enough sodas in a
week. If you have a decent refrigerator to donate, we would love
to hear from you.
Please send an email to
the Club Secretary.

Our
Random Acts of Kindness day on Friday, September 11th
We are opening up our clinic on that day to NON-TBCS members.
If you know someone who needs help with their computer, please encourage
them to register and then bring it in. The registration page, and
other items are viewable at our wiki:

Our new Mac SIG will meet on August
17th, 7-9pm
Virginia Chilcote is going to lead the new SIG.
This group will meet on the 3rd Monday of each month from 7-9pm. Let me be VERY clear here: we repair PC
compatible computers ONLY. We do not have the expertise to fix
Macs at this time. However, we DO want to provide interested Mac users with
a place to network and share info.

2010 FACUG Technology Cruise/Conference
next February!
The Florida Association of Computer User Groups (FACUG)
is going to hold their next spring conference aboard the Norwegian Sky
cruise ship. We will sail from Miami on Friday, February 26, 2010.
We'll be calling on Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas, and we'll
return to Miami on Monday, March 1, 2010.
The cruise prices are wonderful: $233.37 per passenger
including taxes, fees, and gratuities (in the cheapest cabins), and the
conference is only $50 for TBCS members and their spouses. We'll
have presentations, programs, vendors, cruise adventure, and fantastic
food and activities. Please go to:
www.facug.org for details and
registration. We also have a wiki that you may use to get more
details, and to meet up with other Cruisers:
