2600 Club meets this Friday night from 7-9pm
The topic this month is "Mesh Networks, Mesh Routers, and Cloud Computing".  While you can expect to see computer and Internet gurus at this event, novices are welcome also.  We generally adjourn to Capogna's Dugout afterwards for to get fed and watered.

We'll study Nanotechnology on Sep 4, and Artificial Intelligence on Oct 2.

Club leader, Chris Walters, plans on using a wiki to support our endeavors.  Please send an email to:
chris_walters50@hotmail.com.  Your email should include both an email address & phone number.  We're going to learn lots and have fun too.

New Media SIG.  Led by Dave Dockery
Recently, I became aware of how important it is to understand at least a little bit of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). It has become ever more important to be aware of basic SEO principles because almost EVERYTHING is stored and indexed by the search engines today.  I have an SEO guru, Steve Scott, coming to to give us his primer on SEO this Saturday.  Steve is the owner of the Tampa SEO Training Academy:
www.Tampa-SEO.com

Would YOU like to have a money-making website?
TBCS member, June Hollister, teaches a wonderful series of classes on how to make money with a website.  Those who followed through with her methods ARE reaping the rewards.  While waiting for June to return, I was led to an excellent alternative just yesterday: Ed Dale's "30 Day Challenge".  Ed is an Aussie that has put together a FREE online course to lead you to making your first $1 on the Internet.  Why only a buck?  Because you will then have the framework in place (and the knowledge) to build your online empire.

Our SBI SIG members are supporting this effort.  They have formed a Google Group that you may join:
http://groups.google.com/group/tbcs-30dc named TBCS-30dc.  I sat in at the SBI SIG yesterday.  I was VERY impressed with how well the course is put together, and how useful it was to be able to discuss how it's going face-to-face at our Resource Center.

The SIG will be meeting for the next 3 Sundays (Aug 9 & 16).  I will be there to open up the Resource Center next Sunday, and Rick Hart will return from his vacation on the following Sunday.

Ed's course has homework every day for 31 days.  It started on Aug 1st... there is still time to catch up!  If you are interested, I would suggest that you register for it at:
www.thirtydaychallenge.com.  After you register (yes, it's free), click on the "Training" tab at the top of the page.  Ed has arranged each day's videos inside the folders there.  At the bottom of the page, are folders that contain a wealth of tools and support information.

-----

Please forward this info to your friends and acquaintances so that they can register.  Please do NOT bring in a computer if you haven't received a scheduled time from us.  We had some people show up at the last one that we had to turn away... embarrassing the members who sent them.
