This month, Dale Atchison talks about when and how to 'power cycle' your computer system, buying computer parts at "Big Lots", and even puts an online curse on ...

Stew Bottorf recommends several free and useful programs, there's an article on free tax filing, and an article on magicJack.

1) General Interest

Passing of TBCS Members
Dorothy Lurati passed away this weekend.  Dorothy has been a TBCS member for several years.  She has been a mainstay of support for the Embroidery SIG.  Our condolences to her family.  She will be missed.  Sorry, but I do not have any information regarding services, etc. as of yet.

I also apologize to the family of TBCS Member Harold Allen.  Harold passed away unexpectedly on December 3rd of last year.  He also has been a member for years, and attended our Photoshop SIG.  He was overlooked because I was very sick at the time of his passing.  His friends can see an homage to his life at:

Hmmm, better give you a TinyURL for that one:

Please Return the Samsung Manual!
Manuals in the Media Center are left there to be shared by the users.  Please return our manual.

We need some drawing giveaway items
Do you have software that you've never loaded, or computer books that you've never read?  How about giving them to us at the Resource Center or the Monthly meetings so that we can spread them around to other members that may find them useful.  Thanks for any help.

Doc's Café & Doc's Place Live

We're going to do something VERY different at the Cafe this week: I have some thought puzzles for you us to discuss.  My puzzles tend to be pure logic problems.  You may also bring some of your favorites in case we have time.

I'm hoping to finally broadcast Doc's Place Live again this week.  While we've solved the bandwidth problem last week, the cpu fan was overheating in the computer and causing it to shut down.  Hopefully, we are fixed now.

3) SIG Stuff

Our SIGs (Special Interest Groups) all meet at our Resource Center
(map: http://www.tampa-bay.org/maps.htm).

SIGs are a great place to get more personalized attention, and get your questions answered. The following SIGs will meet this week:

Monday, March 23, 7-9pm
Publishing Software SIG. Led by Stacy Lloyd
Q&A followed by a discussion on newsletters.  If available, please bring a newsletter copy for the computer display, (i.e., on thumb drives, CDs, etc.)  Also bring, if possible, any printed copies, of yours, or anyone else's, newsletters.  Interesting advertising also offers good sources for ideas.  I will also give a short demonstration of the Microsoft OneNote program.  If you have Microsoft Office 2007, you probably have OneNote.  It is a very useful, easy to use program for keeping quick notes.  The notes are easy to find when needed.  I highly recommend using it.  Stacy Lloyd
