In this month's Bits 'n' Bytes, Dale Atchison goes back to basics, explaining the Windows' Title bar, Taskbar, System Tray, Cut/Copy/Paste, and mouse conventions -- all stuff that hasn't changed since Windows 95, but a lot of people still have trouble with these basic concepts.  Also Ira Wilsker suggests several additional uses for your USB thumb drives.

Upcoming FACUG & APCUG spring conference: March 13, 14, & 15 in Zephyrhills
$50 if postmarked or online by Feb 10, $60 by Feb 20, and $65 at the door

FACUG (Florida Association of Computer User Groups) and APCUG (Association of Personal Computer User Groups are pooling their resources and offering a combined Spring Conference.  This will be a totally new experience.  We thought we had a great conference last year with 98% of the participants indicating a strong desire to return.  (I'm making no promises, but last year ALL attendees received a copy of Vista Ultimate - what a neat surprise THAT was.)

While speakers and events are still being finalized, we will be having a greater emphasis on technology.  APCUG will expand our horizons from the State of Florida to inviting user groups from every state in the union. We will have a chance to see new faces, make new friends, experience new ideas and have a fun time to boot.

Our country voted for change this year, we listened and are applying it to our approach to the conference. We are keeping the best of what we had and are changing the rest.  Lupton Caterers will remain as they had a top notch rating last year.

You will be able to register at either www.facug.org or www.apcug.net.

Dennis Schulman offers a Free seminar on security techniques to protect your computer
He will demonstrate techniques for keeping your hard drive humming along without collecting too much Internet flotsam & jetsam in two 2-hour introductory classes.  If you are interested, please call Dennis at 727-251-7900 so he can get an idea of how many are interested.
