In this month's Bits 'n' Bytes, Dale Atchison goes back to basics, explaining the Windows' Title bar, Taskbar, System Tray, Cut/Copy/Paste, and mouse conventions -- all stuff that hasn't changed since Windows 95, but a lot of people still have trouble with these basic concepts.  Also Ira Wilsker suggests several additional uses for your USB 'thumb drives'."

June Hollister adds an extra week free!
June will be at the Resource Center again this Friday night 7-9pm

Socrates Cafe becomes Doc's Cafe
This Wednesday night 7-9pm at the Resource Center
Socrates Cafe became TBCS Cafe, and is now going to become Doc's Cafe.  I'm changing the name this time because I'm going to pick the topics and I'm going to introduce the topic with a short commentary.  Also, we are going to start broadcasting this on the web.  I'm hoping that doesn't cause any of our regular attendees to stay away, but I want to give these changes a try, and see how they are received.

The topic for this month's meeting is: "What Would YOU Do To Improve Our World?"

If you would like to view the meeting, just go to:

After our usual question and answer period, I plan to discuss and demonstrate the planning that went into my most recent project, which is a magazine-like article created as a look-back at our September tour in Bavaria and Austria.  This was created with text written in Microsoft Word and laid out in Adobe InDesign CS3 with photographs managed in Adobe Photoshop CS3.  Questions and/or comments are welcomed by our group on any publishing type of software program.

WEDU Be More Humble or People's Choice award
I am sorry to report that we did not win the WEDU People's Choice award.  This award was based entirely on how many people voted for us on their website.  When they prefaced the award saying that the winner had over 50,000 votes, I knew we couldn't compete with that.  It was one by www.bigcatrescue.com.  They have a national network that they were able to motivate.  I certainly appreciate all of your efforts.

You better be aware of this new virus!
"Downadup worm cited as the biggest cyber attack in years"
This worm has already spread to an estimated 15 million computers.  If you have not kept your Microsoft critical updates up to snuff, you could be infected too.  Here's a link that will help you figure out what to do:
