Bill De Lucia is soon going to leave us...

Bill's last Novice SIG will take place on May 13th, and then he heads north for the summer until he returns in October.  If you are interested in taking over this SIG until his return, please email the Club Secretary and let us know you're interested.

-----

Doc's Place, 2600 Club, & XO Computer SIG all meet this week.

Doc's Place (Friday morning 10am-noon)
Leave your questions at home this week as we tackle new material: Vista utilities and Web 2.0.  Attendees can help select the Web 2.0 features we will explore in future sessions.  We'll also look at our experiences with Magic Jack.

2600 Club (Friday evening 7-9pm)
Magen Hughes
will be speaking on: "Tricks of the Trade: The Hacker's Tool Belt".  Once again, we're not teaching "hacking" per se, we're teaching intermediate to advanced computers.  You don't need to be a member to attend this one so bring your friends.

XO Computer (Sunday afternoon 1-3pm)
Dan Galgano
will be helping attendees to enjoy all the nifty new features of this remarkable little laptop computer.

2) TBCS Classes

Phil Sullivan's Hands-On Beginners Classes
Four 2-hour classes on Tuesdays 10am-noon   $40 (NO make-up)
Since these are hands-on classes, they will be limited to only 12 people.
You MUST register for these (see below).

The next sessions will take place on: May 6, 13, 20, & 27

-----

Microsoft Movie Maker (lecture style) by Jan McNulty
Monday, May 5th, 10am - noon  $10
This is NOT a hands on class.
You MUST register for this class.

Windows Movie Maker is a free download (for WinXP users) from Microsoft.  It's an excellent tool for editing your home movie clips together and adding in narration and music.  Jan will show how to create a movie from the very beginning.  We have Microsoft Movie Maker on one of our A/V Lab computers so you can start learning how to use that software here.

-----

Classroom Registration
All of our classes meet at our Resource Center in Clearwater.  The full class fee is due at the first session (cash or check please).  All classes come with a money-back guarantee if you're not happy with the instruction for any reason.

In order to register for any of the classes (or if you have questions), please send an email to the Club Secretary.

3) SIG Stuff

Our SIGs (Special Interest Groups) all meet at our Resource Center
(map: http://www.tampa-bay.org/maps.htm).
All of our SIGs are free to our members.

SIGs are a great place to get more personalized attention, and get your questions answered. The following SIGs will meet this week:

Monday, April 28, 7-9pm
Publishing Software SIG. Led by Stacy Lloyd
We'll begin with the usual question & answer session, we'll continue completing a 12-page catalog for a Tea Company.  This is from chapter 4 in the Adobe InDesign CS3 Classroom-in-a-Book.  If you have the book and try it ahead of time, it makes the review in the meeting more interesting.  I have found a few things that do not work with the book's directions.  It will be interesting to see if we can solve those disparities within our group.
