1) General Interest

Schedule Changes in December

December is a very different month for our club.  Both our Board of Directors meeting and our monthly meeting occur 1 week earlier than in all the other months because of Christmas of course.  Please join us at the Board meeting THIS week, and the monthly meeting NEXT week.

-----

New PowerPoint SIG starting on Saturday, January 12th 1-3pm

Member Peter Summers is going to start a SIG devoted exclusively to this Microsoft Office application.  Here's his description of what it will be about:

"This SIG explores the many uses of PowerPoint, a software component of MicroSoft Office. It has uses in both personal and business settings that will be explored. You can use it to make a photo album comple te with animation and sound, and then put it on a disk that can be used anywhere whether or not the software is loaded on that particular computer (great for gifts or just sharing family events). In your business life you can use the program to create presentations consisting of slides, graphics and animation that will make any meeting more effective and enjoyable (and impress the boss). It will also produce outlines and handouts that support the presentation. The SIG is meant to introduce you to the software if you are a new user, and increase your skill if you are already familiar with it."

Looking for Christmas/seasonal messages

Jim Boynton asked the audience at last week's monthly meeting to send us examples of your favorite digital messages so that we can show them off at the December meeting on December 11th.  Here's a very cool example:

Monday, December 3rd, 10am-1pm  $15
This is a hands-on class.  You MUST register in advance.
Photo Story 3 is the FREE software that comes from Microsoft that helps you to build movies from your photos.  Jan will show you how to put YOUR photos together with narration and/or music to amaze and amuse your friends.  Not only can you get very professional looking results, but the software is really very easy to use.

-----

Scrapbooking by Jan McNulty
Thursday, December 13th,  10-noon  $10
This is not a hands-on class.  Please register in advance.

I will show you in detail how you can make your photos tell a story plus look great... how you can create a great intro to your story using Windows Movie Maker or Windows Photo Story.  Lots of fun... plus those that attended the first Scrapbook SIG will learn more details of what you can do with your photos.  Jan

Please do not confuse Jan's Scrapbooking CLASS which costs $10 with her Scrapbooking SIG which is FREE.
