1) General Interest

Do you want to serve on the TBCS Board of Directors? - LAST CHANCE!

Nominations for this lofty office close midnight Friday night November 30th.  We'll be electing a few new Board members in December.  Our nomination process is open to all TBCS members.  All you need to do is to email the Club Secretary and ask that your name be placed in nomination.  You should plan on attending the General Monthly Meeting on December 11th at the Largo Cultural Center (yes, our December meeting is held on the 2nd Tuesday instead of the 3rd - make sure you mark your calendar).  That's the night that the election will be held.  You may nominate someone else, or you may even nominate yourself.

Socrates Cafe - THIS WEDNESDAY
Wednesday, November 28th, 7-9pm at the Resource Center

Join our discussion group and share your viewpoint!  Civil, thoughtful discourse is our objective.  No registration is required for this one (and yes, it's free).  Last month we discussed "How is technology affecting our everyday lives?".

Please don't let the fact that a classical philosopher is lending his name to this endeavor.  You don't need to have a high IQ or a college degree to participate.  You need to be thoughtful about your world, and want to discuss it in a friendly environment.  Here's a great description of what a Socrates Cafe is all about:
http://socratescafemn.org/

This event is open to non-members as well as members.  Feel free to invite your friends.

Audio/Video Studio Opens

We are rolling out some A/V Studio services!  We are prepared to do conversions of vinyl records and cassette tapes on the audio computer, and 35mm slide and negative scanning on the video computer.  We have a few mentors standing by to help you get trained and certified on the equipment.  Currently, the studio is open only on Wednesdays and Fridays during the day - by appointment only!

There will be some glitches as all of the details are not worked out, but if you want to get scheduled, you need to send an email to the Club Secretary to let us know what service you are interested in using.

We have determined that the charge to use these resources will be $2.50 per hour.  Initially, blocks of time are being scheduled in 2-hour increments.

Looking for Christmas/seasonal messages

Jim Boynton asked the audience at last week's monthly meeting to send us examples of your favorite digital messages so that we can show them off at the December meeting on December 11th.  Here's a very cool example:

To participate, send your links/emails to the Club Secretary.
