bulletBrenda Leong & Ron Vagnier will give hands on computer training in our computer lab.  Just ask them to show you.

While all of the above activities are taking place, our computer repair crew will be slaving away fixing computers.  Plus Chuck Vroman will return for the day.

The event is open to everyone.  Please bring your friends and neighbors.

Socrates Cafe
Wednesday, October 24th, 7-9pm at the Resource Center

What is virtue, moderation, justice, courage, good, or piety?  All questions that will make you think.  Hmmm... that's the kind of things we ponder at a Socrates Cafe.

We'll select the topic for our first discussion from the following list:

1. What does it mean to be successful?
2. What is logic and how can it be applied to daily life?
3. What is the relationship between science and religion?
4. How is technology affecting our everyday lives?
5. Are we a feel-good society unable to accept unpleasant realities?
6. Does jealousy create loneliness?

Join our discussion group and share your viewpoint!  No registration is required for this one.  The group will select one of the above questions to discuss.

If you are intrigued enough to take a closer look:

This event is open to non-members as well as members.  Feel free to invite your friends.

Volunteers

At the last Open House, we had several people bake some cookies to share with our visitors.  Please remember to bring some more for this Open House.  We've had requests.  The cookies are always a hit.

We miss our drawings at the monthly meetings.  We would like to get them going again, but we need someone to volunteer for the job.  It's a big job because you are responsible for schlepping the prizes from your home to the Largo Cultural and back each month.  Please send an email to the Club Secretary if you are interested in taking it over.

First we will take a look at the newest release of Photoshop Elements 6.0 so you can decide if you would like to upgrade.  Next we will take a look at using the new Scanner the club purchased for the new Audio/Video Studio.  In doing so we will look at scanning color slides into Photoshop Elements.  Finally we will look at the setup and calibration techniques for ensuring your printed output will look the same as it looks on your monitor.  The scanner will play a part in this procedure as we will use it to develop a printer profile to be used in this process.  As you can see, we have a lot to cover and it should be an interesting SIG.
