Our Open House is fast approaching:
Saturday, October 27th, 9am-2pm
All sorts of people are volunteering to help make it quite a day.
What activities are going to take place, you might ask? Here's a
partial list:
 | We're drawing for $100 again - you'll need to
be there to sign up, but not to win. |
 | Demos of our new Audio/Visual Studio. |
 | Videos every hour on the hour: the best of "Fun
Stuff from the Internet" |
 | Many of our SIG Leaders and Instructors are going to
give short previews of what they teach and how they teach it. |
While all of the above activities are taking place, our computer repair
crew will be slaving away fixing computers. Plus Chuck Vroman will
return for the day.
The event is open to everyone. Please bring your friends
and neighbors.
If you would like to volunteer (or if you have questions), please send an email to the Club Secretary.

RAK Computer Clinic at the Open House
Saturday, October 27th, 9am-1pm
You MUST register for the free Random Acts of Kindness Computer Clinic.
Here's HOW you register: I am going to send an email message later today
with the instructions for registering. You may forward that email to
your friends and acquaintances so that they can register. Please do

Socrates Cafe
Wednesday, October 24th, 7-9pm at the Resource Center
No registration is
required for this one. Just show up prepared to discuss a
philosophical question (that the group will select) politely. One of
the main things that I learned from the Socrates Cafe's that I have
attended is just how many different opinions we humans hold. We are
a diverse and delightful race.
If you are intrigued enough to take a closer look:

This event is open to non-members as well as members.
Feel free to invite your friends.

TBCS Website and Bits & Bytes Review this Tuesday
night 7-9pm
I am leaving more and more unfinished projects in my wake these days.
I don't feel bad about most of them - except for this one. I've had
3 volunteers come forward to help us out on our website and on the Bits
& Bytes. They all did an outstanding job, and they did it
without ANY support from me. I am so sorry that I haven't reviewed
the site to give them some feedback for corrections. Since I haven't
been able to do the job on my own, I ask those of you who are interested
in our publishing efforts to join us this Tuesday night to critique our
website and magazine.

Potpourri
Thanks to those
volunteers who staffed our table at the Palm Harbor Health Fair
last Thursday. You deserve to see your names in print here, but I
failed to write down everybody's name. I was only there at the
beginning and at the end, but I understand our team spoke to a lot of
people, and passed out fistfuls of TBCS brochures. I really do
appreciate your spirit; I wish I was better prepared to actually SHOW you
some appreciation.
Our Board meeting is
this Wednesday night at 6:30. It will soon be time to elect some
new Directors to our Board. If you have any interest in serving,
please consider showing up and throwing your hat in the ring.
June Hollister's Online Marketing class
resumes this Friday night at 7pm. The last class of this series
will take place the following Friday.
There's so much more to talk about, but I must run for
now.
