1) General Interest

Volunteers

Once again, I need a few volunteers for a couple of upcoming events:

Thursday, October 4th, 9am-2pm: TBCS is sponsoring a booth at the Palm Harbor Community Activity Center for their Senior Health FairCarol King and I will be there, but I'd like to invite a few others to come and hang out with us for a couple of hours or more.  All that is required is that you be personable, and tell others the value of a membership in our club.  The center is anticipating over 800 attendees for this event.  Here's a chance for you to sponsor a few members and get your next year's TBCS membership for free.

Saturday, October 27th, 9am-2pm: Open House & RAK Clinic at our Resource Center.  We're going to show off our new A/V Lab (we should be able to do a few demos).  Meanwhile, our crew of techs will be fixing computers at our Random Acts of Kindness Computer Clinic.  We'll also be showing videos throughout the day, and we'll have some instructors capable of giving hands-on instructions in our Computer Lab.

You would think all of that would be more than enough, wouldn't you?  BUT, we're going to FEED you also.  What a deal!  While several volunteer jobs are already filled, we can always use a few more for this event.  We generally have over 150 members and guests attend these events - it's a fun day.  Yes, you may bring your neighbors and friends.  Another good opportunity for you to extend your membership by sponsoring members.

In order to volunteer for either of the above events (or if you have questions), please send an email to the Club Secretary.

I would also like to mention the efforts of some of our current volunteers:

George David handles all sorts of handyman tasks at our center.  It was George who fixed up our windows in the SIG room so that we could keep the room darker while displaying photos, embroidery, etc.

Kay Bazler handled running much of the wiring for the new A/V Lab.

John & Marcia Woulfe took over a fair amount of the sweeping and cleaning responsibilities at the center.  It looks a whole lot better since they've been paying attention to it.

Thanks to all of you.  Also thanks to all of you who help empty waste cans and take out the trash on an ad hoc basis.  It really helps when several pitch in and help out.
