Business Roundtable - THIS TUESDAY NIGHT 7-9pm
June
Hollister's Online Marketing - STARTS THIS FRIDAY NIGHT 7-9pm

Potpourri...
Whew... I've been on vacation this past week, and
I'm just catching up. I tried to stay away from email all week -
which meant that I had 780 messages waiting for my return on Saturday.
Fortunately (?!) almost exactly half were spam. So I'm caught up as
of Sunday night. My apologies to those who needed an immediate
response. You should have it by now. If you don't, it was
probably tossed out because it looked like spam. If your mail is not
configured to display your first and last name, that increases the
possibility that it will get tossed.
Here's a fun job for which I need a volunteer: I could
use a few cd reviewers. Dale Atchison has put together 2 CDs
for us to sell as a fund-raiser. Each CD is a collection of the "Fun
Stuff From the Internet" that I've been showing at our monthly
meetings over the last few years. Dale included a bunch of other
goodies that people have sent to him and to me over the years: PowerPoint
slide shows, contest entries from our PhotoStory contest a couple of years
ago, and also pictures that I've taken at our parties, Resource Center,
and meetings. Why 2 CDs you might ask?... because one is PG rated
and the other is R rated. If you're interested in being a reviewer,
please send an
email to the Club Secretary
specifying which version of Windows you are running, whether or not you
have PowerPoint installed, and whether you want to review the PG or the R
version.
Note: "Review" in this sense is to make sure that
everything works okay, you will NOT be tasked with writing a review.
Finally, we have a couple of spots open to attend a
publicity seminar and luncheon at the downtown Clearwater Library
on Thursday, September 27, from 11:30 to 1:30. The seminar is
sponsored by North Pinellas Woman's Club, Clearwater Community Woman's
Club, Countryside High School, Clearwater Public Library System, & BW
Cafe. It's called "PR Strategies Seminar for Non-Profits".
You can find out more about the agenda at:
http://northpinellaswc.org/pr_strategies_2007.html
TBCS has already picked up the $75 tab to send 5 members.
If you are interested,
please send an email to the Club Secretary.

Our New Audio/Video Lab
Our new A/V Lab is in place. Now we have to decide
how we're going to use it. A LOT of people are interested in using
it. Plus, we've already had people that want to add their
hardware and/or their software to our equipment. While I already
know how we're going to handle SOME items, we will be discussing it in
more detail at the Board of Director's meeting that will take place
at the Resource Center this Wednesday night at 6:30pm.--*
Normally, I limit discussion on any single item to 10
minutes. However, I'm willing to devote up to a half-hour so that we
can explore our options to a greater degree. All TBCS members are
welcome to join us if you would like to participate. This is your
resource too. If you feel strongly about how it's to be used, here's
you chance to express it.

Online Business Roundtable - THIS Tuesday,
7-9pm
While all are invited, this roundtable will be
of special interest for those who have been taking June Hollister's Online
Business Classes. The objectives are:
 | To share what is and isn't working for each
participant |
 | To critique each other's sites (if so desired) |
 | To elicit ideas on improvements |
 | Other brainstorming topics |
This is a Roundtable, not a class or course. We
will view sites live online of those who want to participate so that the
group can discuss. Participants are welcome to bring their laptops
to take notes, and in case your site isn't published to the web yet.
Please feel free to bring anything: handouts, notes, questions, etc. that
may be of benefit to the group.
