FREE Seminar: Using Windows - THIS
SATURDAY

Open House - What a Day!!!
We had 170 visitors on Saturday, we fixed about 20
computers, we ate 120 hot dogs, and we had a LOT of laughs along the way.
"Thank You!" To all of the people who volunteered to help us out.
I heard that there were 17 of you. You all deserve to see your name
in print here, but I just don't have the time this morning. Same
thing goes for the Random Acts of Kindness crew who fixed all the
computers that day (and will be fixing more in February at the Palm Harbor
Library). Thanks to one and all for a great day.
-----
Dave Gussow & John Torro
- THIS TUESDAY!
Join us Tuesday night
at the Largo Cultural Center for our first meeting of the new
year. Dave Gussow & John Torro will join us that night.
They are easily the most popular guest speakers that we have. This will
be the most well-attended meeting that we host all year. Come on out and
join us and see why Dave & John are so popular with our members.

Random Acts of Kindness at the Palm
Harbor Library on Feb. 15th
Historically,
Random Acts of Kindness week has been celebrated during the same
week as Valentine's Day (makes it easier to remember). We're going
to celebrate it for the first time in 2007 the day after Valentine's Day.
Our RAK computer repair crew will be at the Palm Harbor Library on
Thursday, February 15th fixing computers for the public at one of
our FREE clinics.
You do not need to be
a TBCS member to take advantage of this service. We invite the general
public to join us in our unique way of celebrating the concept of
performing random acts of kindness. So please let your friends and
neighbors know that they are welcome. They MUST, however,
pre-register for this event. Please go to:
www.synergypublishing.com
and click on the "Register" link at the top of the page

The Digital Video SIG is coming!
(next week)
Wednesday,
January 24th, 10-noon
We finally have a SIG leader for a Digital Video SIG.
His name is Tom Lembke, and he's a glutton for punishment because
he's going to lead the SIG twice a month: the second and the fourth
Wednesday of each month.
Digital Video is something of a misnomer because Tom
plans on dealing with digital audio also. Many of our members want
to digitize their record albums, cassette tapes, and VHS tapes and burn
them to CDs or DVDs. This is the SIG you've been looking for.

Story 3 is the FREE software that comes from Microsoft that helps you to
build movies from your photos. We had a Photo Story 3 contest
several months ago. Many of you asked afterwards if we would have
classes again. Photo Story software helps you to build photo albums
with transitions, movement, narration, and music. Not only can you
get very professional looking results, but the software is really very
easy to use.
